if you bowl on wood lanes there may be enough friction at the end of the pattern for a plastic ball to hook. increased ball speed is one way to combat this. changing your hand position at release is another good way to solve this. if you watched the pba telecast today you noticed that walter ray williams, jr., rolls the ball over the finger and thumbholes. this ball won't hook. this is one reason he's so good. this type of release will require practice to master but it's worth it.
although plastic balls come from the factory polished they're not really sanded very fine underneath. i had my plastic ball wetsanded very smooth with a 4,000 grit abralon pad, then had several coats of rough buff applied, and then had several coats of polish applied.
