Can those who use the simple green describe the film that supposedly forms when not used with isopropyl alcohol? I was told the Isopropyl alcohol will prevent the film from forming. I think that is what made my Nano go from super tacky to really smooth and zero grab.

Actually, the alcohol helps it dry...it needs to be cut with some water to help prevent a film...  try wiping with a wet towel, followed by a dry one.  It should help.

I've used it for a long time.  I cut it 50% with alcohol so it will dry faster.  But, after cleaning I always go over the ball with nothing but alcohol and I have never had a film.

I have also used the simple green straight out of the bottle but I always follow up with a full alcohol wipe.

As the others above have already said, clean the ball with water or better yet alcohol, after you cleaned it with SG.

I also thought I felt something on the ball after trying SG several years back, but I couldn't see it. SO I tested SG on something that I was greasy/oily/dirty, but on which I was sure I could see the leftover film: a car windshield. Sure enough, even after wiping the windshield with the diluted SG on a micro-fiber towel, to clean the dirt off, it left a film that could be easily seen. I wound up removing it with some alcohol on a paper towel.

I don't know that it could remain on the ball for long, once you start throwing it down the lane, but it sure can't be good for bowling.

it made me think my Nano was dead. I thought maybe cleaning it with the simple green alone would work better, but I see that is not the case. I'll find out today!

Simple Green MAX is cheap and the best bowling ball cleaner I have ever found. It does not leave a film on the bowling, even when used straight.

I'm not talking the regular Simple Green you find at Home Depot. No, this stuff, made by the same company, is way better. When I get done using this cleaner, my ball is very tacky and rag has a lot of dirt and oil on it. You may have to order it online.

Use it straight from the spray bottle, do NOT water it down.

Plus, this stuff is safe for the environment.

Safe for the environment, but maybe not for us.  From the link:

WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer (trace Diethanolamine).

That warning is not on the original Simple Green.
