you got it right. the glad pearl looks a lot like the ogre pearl which has that buffed wax look (which is what I think they use from that post you showed me)
im really looking for slightly less skid but if I got it VERY close to OOb thats fine. I will still have to try it on the lanes (bowling fridays 4 man team mixed at jersey lanes, starts this friday)
the look of the polish now is what I was going for. more on the lines of a compound finish but a little less shiney then the OOB that both the G.P. and O.P. have.
I wouldnt call this a vexing problem... more along the lines of half experiment to learn how to achieve the proper reaction and to avoid overlap of my ogre ss and the glad pearl. both were skid snap monsters and im looking to bleed more energy off in the midlane IF I cant then its going back to OOB as close as possible and I will just use it when it works best.
I can always remove it from my current lineup and slip in the buzz at grey scotch brite no polish
it was FAR from being a bad ball. shot 260 ish second time out with it but it was overlapping my ss like i said.
quote:
It appears to be roughly what the GladPearl looks like. The one GladPearl I've seen, new just out of the box, had its surface looking more like a compound polish than a gloss polish. My Ogre Pearl looked a lot like it.
Of course the bottom line is ball reaction, not appearance. Let us know how close we all came to solving this vexing problem.
