Hi there, could anyone give me a guideline as to how to make changes to a Storm Shift with layout #1 as advertised on the Storm website? I want more length and a gradual arc to the pocket type of reaction. Is this possible without plugging and re-drilling the whole ball? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Without redrilling, usually a flare reducing hole (if you have the necessary static weights remaining) will reduce the flare, giving more length and less overall hook and backend.
See this video by BrunsNick for positioning of such weight holes and their effects. http://www.brunsnick.com/bowling_ball_x_hole_video.html
Also there are polishes that add length and reduce backend: Track's Delayed Reaction and Neo-Tac's Control-it both work to do that.
