To me, something like this depends on your style, revs, speed, and etc. As for me, I am rev challanged with 15 mph speed, give or take a mph. Also I don't have a lot of hand. I scotchbrited mine with a 6 sided sanding with the last 2 sides perpendicular to the track. I then put on some Ultimate Quick Cut 500 grit polish. I didn't put it on very heavy as I didn't want to fill the pores, but what I put on, I worked it in pretty hard and got probably around a 1500 Grit or so shine. I then used over that, some Columbia 2000 Grit polish. I put a glob of polish a wee bit less than the size of a half dollar on the top half of ball and worked it in hard. Ditto for bottom half of ball. I then sprayed the ball with water and burned it in. (this gets rid of the polishing dust) Every bowling session, I put the ball on my spinner and put a thin coat of Track Reaction Plus on it, and this seems to prolong the life of the polish for me. For me, the ball works better than NIB. I'm sure others have their own formulas and the way they do it, works for them.
