Anybody used this cleaner? Does it remove polish?

Also, I've heard some shop guys say if you used it with a spinner it will add some gloss to the surface over time, is this true?

Any thoughts on this stuff good or bad, let's hear it cause I want to try some but wanna know what im getting into as well.

I was given a sample bottle of Tac Up, it's a good cleaner in a nice spray bottle, USBC approved for use during competition. It's equivalent to Valentino's Remedy RX. I think it actually cleans a bit better than Clean and Dull, but is a liquid instead of a gel. I haven't used it enough to comment on its affect on ball surface. When used on the spinner it has a slightly "choking" odor, similar to Simple Green. We already stock Remedy RX, so do not plan to add the Tac Up. -- JohnP

I've been using Tac Up since I heard about it here earlier in the year. I just bought a bottle of Remedy RX to try out after hearing so much praise about it. After bowling, I cleaned my ball with Remedy RX with a microfiber towel by hand, and it seemed to do a decent job. I went back home and pulled out my almost empty bottle of Tac Up, and proceeded to clean one side of the ball. I found that I was able to get a little bit more dirt out of the ball. I repeated on the other side, and the got the same result. I'm going to try this test again, and really put some elbow grease with the Remedy RX before using the Tac Up to make sure of this result.

To be sure, also try it the other way: clean with Tac-Up first, then clean with Remedy.

Most cleaners do a much better job, if you let them sit for 30 seconds before wiping them off. 30 seconds doesn't sound like much, but it's an eternity when you're wanting to clean the ball and get back home.

I have used it with pretty good results. It seems to do a good job at removing dirt and belt marks. However it doesn't remove the oil rings on the balls as good as Lane Masters cleaner. I did as the person above and cleaned the balls with Tac Up first and the did it again with Lane Masters. Biggest benefit is that you can use Tac Up during league. It has NOT shinned up my dull balls when using on the spinner. I agree with Charles to let any cleaner set for 30 seconds before wiping the ball with a microfiber towel. It DOES NOT remove polish.

lane masters cleaner best cleaner on the market gets rid of oil belt marks and leaves the coverstock real tacky. Give it a try you won't be dissappointed

I placed an order for an 8 oz bottle just now. They have a good price on a 32 oz bottle at the moment, ($28 shipped) but I want to try 8 oz first and see how good it is.

I got to repeat the same test I mentioned earlier. I used Remedy RX to clean the ball I used in league as vigorously as I could by hand, and was very liberal with the cleaner. I let it sit for a bit on the coverstock as well. Then later I sprayed Tac Up on one side of the ball and cleaned it with my microfiber towel drawing a little bit more dirt. I repeated on the other side, this time with a white paper towel. Here's a pic of what it looked like Paper Towel Link. As you can see it's just a little bit more dirt. Nothing too miraculous.

It seems to me that the formula of Tac Up is slightly more aggressive than Remedy RX. I'm not sure which one is "better" overall though. I've used Tac Up for awhile and my dull balls definitely would develop some shine to them, but from what I've read here, the during bowling cleaners don't remove lane shine. The odor on Remedy RX is more pleasant than Tac Up which kind of reminds me of Windex (even though I haven't been around that in a while). Maybe ammonia is part of the formula. The odor is nowhere near as strong as Lane Masters though (which seems to just stay on my balls and in my bag). Another thing I noted is that the Remedy RX seems to be a little more viscous than the Tac Up, a difference which is apparent when trying to wipe both off with a microfiber towel.

BTW, I have tried to clean balls with Remedy RX after using Tac Up on them. It didn't get anything. But, Remedy RX from what I've seen so far seems to be a great "during bowling" cleaner. Plus, I have had a great run in league since I bought it, so I'm not in a hurry to go get another bottle of Tac Up to replace the one that's running out.

My Tac Up arrived today. I went to the lanes and practiced 5 games using 2 different balls. When done, I cleaned the 2 balls with the Tac up and then re-cleaned them with Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator and got a small amount of more dirt off the balls.

I will reverse the procedure the next time and then do likewise with the Remedy RX and Tac Up the following 2 times and see how it goes.

I have been using Tac Up in the shop for about 4 months now. I had been stocking Kegel Revive in the shop since we started using Prodigy and Navigate lane oils and afterall, who should know how better to get their oil off a bowling ball than the company who makes the oil right?

Well I am a firm believer in Revive...great stuff at a great price. It cleans very well and is easy to get.

The Tac Up seems to be every bit as good as Revive. My personal equipment continues to perform well and not need excessive maintenance.....

First test ... Used Tac Up first and followed behind it with Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator

Results ..... Got more dirt and oil (not a lot but some) off ball with the Rejuvenator

Second test ... Used Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator first and followed behind it with Tac Up

Results ......... White towel stayed when followed up withTac Up, so the Rejuvenator removed all dirt and oil on first cleaning.

Third test will be done using Remedy RX vs Tac Up

This cleaner is great IMO....

Long story short I bowl in a center that gives bad belt marks (black crud) each week. I recently drilled up a Frantic and used it there once (between the ball colors and the sludge) it was a bad combination. The ball was literally black at the end of 3 games of league.

Put the ball on my spinner and used Tac Up on it and it looks brand new again. The one downfall IMO is it does have a stronger smell than any other cleaner I've used before. But for the results i'll take it.

As for removing the polish it didnt't appear to change the oob cover of the Frantic at all.

^ - Oh great, now I have to buy another cleaner, lol... I'm working on my bottle of Remedy RX right now. Probably will try Black Magic after it finishes.

I might just go with a solvent based cleaner anyway since I never really use cleaner during league. I tried Lane Masters, but I don't like it for other reasons than its cleaning ability. The strong odor seems to stay on my equipment and in my bag. It also seems evaporate (or get absorbed) so quickly when I take my microfiber towel to it.

I had my friend buy Hook-It when he recently asked which to get (between Power Wash and Hook-it). That seemed like a no brainer. I like that it has a more pleasant odor, and doesn't disappear so quickly. When my friend first used it, it seemed to leave a slight residue, but he barely wiped (and the instructions warn about this saying to continue rubbing with a towel to remove it). It seems to do a very good job cleaning though.
