Taxi Products Vs Trizact products

I have a the taxi product blocks. Im looking for the best(cheapest also) replacement paper for the disk.
Someone once said the lopes for the velcro is reveresed for the two. Is this true which makes thier sandpaper(abrsive) NOT interchangable?

Is there another source for the abrasive for the TAXI products?

Yes It's true -- the contacts are reversed on the two types of CABs, so when I wanted to use Trizac disks, I had to buy a Trizac CAB.

I asked the good folks at Innovative Bowling why this is, since it makes more sense to have one generic CAB for all types Sandpaper/Trizac paper. I got a lot of mumbling, but no specific answer. It's easy to guess that someone saw a way to extract a few extra bucks from us generous bowling consumers.

Still, you're only talking about $25.00 for the Trizac specific CAB. In the overall scheme of things, it's not a lot of money and the blocks last just about forever. As far as an alternate (and cheaper) source for Taxi products, I'm not aware of another place. However, logic dictates that one must exist.

Not having seen or used the blocks, how feasible is it to get the velcro products from a sewing or craft supply store and create a relatively inexpensive fix?  I remember doing that with some SST soles when I found that the new ones were different from what they originally marketed...it was either the hook and hook put back to back or the loop and loop, I don't remember which, but it was simply a matter of cutting the strips to size and peeling off the backing.
