Very good video comparing 91% alcohol and a 50/50 mix of IPA and Simple Green, surprising results.  The videographer has also done videos on other ball cleaners that you should be able to find on YouTube.  --  JohnP

I use 91% Alcohol at the end of the night never have any issues with ball death.

LMB Extreme, approved for use DURING bowling, will remove the ground in oil flare lines that neither 91% isopropyl nor SG would remove. In fact, no other cleaner approved for use during bowling that I have, to date, tested, will remove those ground in oil lines except LMB.

As far as I can tell, almost any cleaner used with a microfiber towel will remove almost any kind of bowling dirt except those ground in oil lines. Only the strong cleaners, LMB, Clean n Dull and Hook-it will remove those oil lines. Only LMB is approved for use during bowling.

That Purple Stuff cleans everything. I use it all the time.

That Purple Stuff is a good cleaner, But it won't remove the oil lines in the cover.

I have been using plain old isopropyl alcohol for years.  I am very chemical sensitive and a lot of the commercial ball cleaners have too strong of an odor for my taste.
In fact, I have to temporarily "evacuate" the area when my teammates use the stuff.
Alcohol also has an odor, but It does not affect my sensitivities and the odor quickly dissipates.

I have found that when used with a good mico-fiber towel, alcohol  does a good job and it does not adversely affect the coverstock.

Surprisingly, many folks still use acetone as a cleaner. Acetone is illegal of course, but even worse, it is highly toxic when inhaled or absorbed through the skin. My advice is to be very careful. Know what's on the label of any cleaning product before attempting to use it. If the active ingredients are not listed on any product, I simply avoid them altogether.  Be courteous of your teammates as well when using any ball cleaning product. Folks don't want to smell excessively strong chemicals. Wait until
your bowling session is over before attempting to clean your equipment, and by all means, try to do it away from other people--- and in a well ventilated area.
