Towels
« on: June 01, 2008, 03:12:44 AM »
Is there a preferred towel for cleaning and/or polishing with a spinner? I'm assuming cleaning and polishing would be best done with two different types. When I wax my car the buffer that slips on my hand seems like a good polishing material.

Thanks.

when your cleaning microfiber is the best.

when you polishing I like microfiber because it seems to really grip the ball, but it does not generate the same heat as a terry cloth towel, so the shine is a light polish. We recommend using a terry cloth towel, because when spinning the polish get matted into the fibers and then sits directly on the ball to generate a massive amount of heat.

I have a friend who is a professional car detailer and they only use terry cloth bonnets when they polish cars for the same reason.

Agred, terry cloth towles are the best for polishing, the smoothness and the friction that you can obtain is the best

Thanks guys. I've found that when cleaning, the microfiber grips to polyester a lot more than the resin stuff too.

I'll pick up some terry cloth.
