Power Wash and Remedy RX
« on: July 01, 2009, 02:28:30 AM »
Is there an actual difference between the two cleaners since they're both made to put a tackiness on the surface? And is it better to use them with a regular towel or microfiber?

As for myself, I have found Power Wash to be only a so-so cleaner. Remedy Rx does a far greater cleaning job for me. Also Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator is a top notch cleaner along with Legends Cleaner. I've tried most all of them and I rank these 3 at the top of the list. Others may have differing opinions. Also some will favor Simple Green-Water mixtures or other homade cleaners.

I agree, Remedy Rx is much better cleaner than Power Wash.

I also agree. I use a Microfiber towel.

In the shop, I start with simple green and water. Next step, power wash and finish with remedy rx . May sound like over-kill but I want the ball clean, tacky and it's just something I do for the customers.

Only have one customer I do not use Power wash on his balls, he said the power wash made him breath a bit funny. No problem, I skip the power wash step for him.

I use a regular terry cloth towel.

id rank the cleaners like this:

1 - lanemasters! but i never use the stuff... its not just a weird smell but it also gives me a headache.

2- remedy rx... i dont think remedy cleans anywhere near as good as lanemasters but it hardly has any smell and does leave the ball tacky and is one of the best cleaners there is.

a distant third. 3 -power wash. the only thing I like about power wash is that it actually smells good! smells like apples. it works ok and i sometimes use it when im sanding balls... ill add some to water in my spray bottle and it works well.

1. I agree on the Lanemasters. I think it is the best, but I don't use it either because of the smell effecting my respiratory system and causing breathing difficulties.

2. In my opion, I think the Remedy RX and Rejuvenator are close to equal if not equal in cleaning abilities and they are both the runner-ups to Lanemaster Cleaners. However, I use mostly Remedy RX because of almost no smell plus it leaves the ball a bit tacky whereas the Rejuvenator has a stronger smell but nothing like Lanemasters.

3. I would rate Neo-Tec's Liquid Nitro as #3. To me the Power Wash is at the lower end of the list with the poorer cleaners.

Just my opinion of using all of the cleaners mentioned here.

yea rejuvenator is a very very good cleaner. i stopped using it a while ago because it didnt really get the gunk off the ball... such as pin burn. but as far as oil and dirt it was pretty damn good.

I agree....Lanemasters is one of few that remove the rubber burns and etc. off the ball with very-very little effort. Most others short of Acetone take a lot of work to get the burn marks off balls.

I am sure my opinion of Remedy RX is a tad biased, but it truly is a product I use every time I bowl.

A good cleaner and a habit of cleaning your bowling ball during league play is one of the best tricks a bowler has in their bag.

Throwing the ball well is first, A good cleaner and cleaning the ball is second.

Kevin, no argument from me there. If you will note, I said my preference is Remedy RX. My 32 oz bottle is getting low, so I will be ordering again shortly plus some more Franken Tape.

I keep my Micro Fiber towel damp with it and wipe my ball after every throw.
