water or something else for sanding

Most videos I see about sanding balls use water. CTD now recommends using their conditioner, but its pretty expensive and I really wonder if it does anything. Have heard some people use Windex and some put a few drops of dishwashing soap in the water. What do you use ?

Just water. It's just there to keep the sanding pad from clogging.

Their conditioner helps extend the life of their pads. Certainly not needed.
