Title: What makes a heavy oil ball?
Post by: Komodo on September 05, 2010, 05:23:52 AM
Just wondering.  If you take a dry lane ball, say for instance a Freeze, which has a pearlized coverstock at 4000 Abralon with polish, and took the surface way down to 500 Abralon, no polish, would that automatically turn it into a heavy oil ball? I realize it would increase its ability to handle oil but would it actually change it into a heavy oil ball?  Is surface prep the primary factor in a ball's ability to handle oil?  I just ordered a spinner and am looking forward to doing some experimenting.
