Someone asked me this a few months back. I presumed not, but I had apply UFO to a ball back in April and just the other day I wanted to remove the polish to try another surface.
The ball is a 900Global Breakpoint. It was sanded to 800 grit US/CAMI with a light grey nylon pad before I applied a medium coat of Valentino's UFO. This ball is a good test because it has both solid and pearl in the coverstock.
I used a plain towel, not an abrasive or any kind, and, of course, a rubber glove that I always use when applying C&D. I used a large dose of C&D and I rubbed fairly firmly and for a good 3-4 minutes. That is much longer that I normally apply C&D when I just want to deep clean a ball and I rubbed much harder.
Results: 90-95% of the shine remained. If anythin,g there was slightly less reflection of the polished surface. I had to use my normal procedure to remove the shine: a Green nylon pad + more C&D. (Normally you don't have to use that low a grit to remove UFO but I wanted to take the surface down.)
I'd have to say, you can't use C&D to remove UFO. Or you don't have to worry about it removing the shine. Heck, Normally UFO doesn't allow much oil to soak into a resin ball. That's why it reduces the backend and the overall hook.
So whoever asked me, Sorry I've forgotten who you are, but here are the results.
