For reasons only to make the ball look pretty, I want to know the way to get a plastic ball the shiniest you can.

Is it:
4000 abralon and gritless polish?

I've had pretty decent luck with sanding it smooth..usually 2000 grit, then using ebonite particle polish, followed by extender polish.

My Secret Sauce is an absolute no brainer for plastic balls. Just sand smooth to 800 grit and apply the sauce. Make sure you have sunglasses close by because you may hurt your eyes.  Thanks   beans

4000 and then Brunswick high gloss on high speed with water and bingo it will have bling.

my brunswick target zone is wetsanded with a 4,000 grit abralon pad and several coats of brunswicks factory finish high polish. there's so much shine i can comb my hair in the relection off the ball.......

I have had success in the past with the exact method described by mrbowlingnut. However, I must admit after trying Bean's Secret Sauce on top of 800-1000 grit(grey pad),my old beat up white dot looks like a snotty marble.

If you can find it
get Nic-Sands 10,000 grit sanding Gel, its called
NicSand Scratch Remover & Polish now. Last bottle I got was from Autozone.
The ball will look like glass and its cheap.

on my plastic balls i take them to 4000 abrlon and use any high gloss automotive polish as i want the ball to have on reaction except go dead straight
