0 degree layout
« on: October 27, 2005, 03:18:31 AM »
I just tried this layout on a Morich Sahara and the roll of this ball with this layout is fantastic.  I was a bit skeptical to try it but the current conditions I face are screamin backends and not matter what ball I threw they just over reacted.  This pattern rolled hard and just continued through the deck.  Not sure how many people out there have tried this pattern but it is worth a look.

I tried it on a RAMPAGE. It works great on the first 2 games.
But when the head dry out. I need to switch to a ball that skid longer and better backend.

How far did you place the pin at? I have done this to two balls and loved both. I like 4 or 4.5X0. High trackers should look into this pattern as it retains axis rotation although rolls smoothly. Love the look i get get on wet/drys also. I like polished solids with medium differential. Most people don't use this drill as it is a bit of a specialty and you need to order the ball with the right specs. I have been tempted to Get a NIB AMF titan through usedbowlingballs.com. They have some with 4-5" pins and like 1 oz of top weight for $59.

I'll add a little bit here but Badger856 can add more on Monday when he is on-line.

Because, I know Badger others should remember he is a high speed cranker.  He can give you his specs.  He is also bowling in a house that is an older wood AMF house THS but with Absolute Control........fresh oil....screaming back ends.  Bit more across the lane than most THS.

I bowl in a house nearby set up by the same lane man on newer AMF HPL see the same thing.  Stiffer condition probably because of the lane suface and Anbsolute Control interaction with the lane surface.  I am a medium speed tweener I control the back end w/ ball surface rather than ball layout.  Both ways will work it depends on how one attacks the condition.

I like your layout Darin it might not work well for me but others like yourself on right condition.....I defintely could see it.
