I was wondering if anyone has used these layouts much in the past? In Denny Torgerson's BTM article in about June of this year it was mentioned along with the 315 degree 'Wiseman Drill'.

I have a 180 on a Brunswick Monster SmashR and love the controlled reaction it provides. I have an X Factor Deuce that I can't get along with using 'simple' drillings like 4x4 and was wondering if anyone could tell me how a 180 layout (or indeed a 315) would work on a ball with this strength of mass bias.

I have seen 180 degree layouts called 3 o'clock layouts on this board...if that aids your understanding.

I have a few balls with the 315 Degree Drill and i love them.  I first put one on an old track tko and it was a bad mother for awhile then i put that drill on a Columbia Messenger Titanium and that is one of the best balls I ever had till it got eaten by one of the pinsetters in my local bowling alley.  Real predictable ball even with slight hand mistakes is was real forgiving.

everything i have done has been 1" pin or less much more would be harder cause of the size of the axis hole.  none of them had a premarked mass bias. One other thing is that the ball rolls real close to the fingers for me.  My messenger was the best of them and the pin was 1" to the right and 1" down from my ring finger with the cg about level with the cut of the finger then a large hole in the upper right part of the ball. I would personally stay away from anything real strong cause it might be a little to aggressive on the back end.
