Title: 3 Fingers In Ball

I have just turned up for league this evening, and one of my opposition has 3 finger holes in his ball. I have never seen anything like this before, are there any benefits to this, and what causes someone to do this? Which 3 fingers are meant to be in the ball as well, as it seemed to me he was using his middle fingers and his pinky, I am most intrigued

I see. How does adding the pinky help in this case, I would have thought that it would have needed to be the three 'main' fingers on the hand?
