buying switch grips online, pro shops
« on: September 10, 2006, 04:31:30 AM »
I've been looking for Turbo switch grips...outsleave only online and so far after looking around 10 sites the only one I see that sells them are Buddiesproshop. That is strange.

Also, what percentage of pro shops do you think carries these? My local one does as that is where I got the inner sleave ( outer sleave was already in the ball, used ). I'm wondering if I should load up on these online in case in the future If I encountered a pro shop that doesn't carry them I'd be screwed. I see no point in ever going back to regular slugs again. No more sitting in pro shops constantly trying to get the driller to get the slug "just right" for me. Before the switchgrip, I was getting to the point of just going to sleaves insted of slugs.

I should also get another inner sleave or two in case something would to happen to the only one I got breaks or lose it. I did find that Turbo sells a protective tube for the inner sleaves, that is pretty cool.

Have you looked at the Grip-Loc option? http://www.griplocproducts.com/

Interesting, so that is the grip loc I've been hearing about. So the inner part is a sleave insted of a slug? That design looks like it would be more durable and no way it could break.

Another question on the switch grips.

All my other balls have 1 1/4 slugs in them. How difficult would it be to put a 1 1/2 outer switch grip sleave in it? Could it just be drilled into the existing hole without having to spend the money and time of having the thumb hole plugged and redrilled?

Cool site, I bookmarked it. Ya, I think I will buy a couple and put them in my bag in case that happens. Thanks.
