What does "with buff mean?

I believe it means this:
Many times, people will buff a ball that's been sanded (whether 600 grit US or 4000 grit Abralon) to smooth out the sanding lines or just to smooth it in general. Micro-fiber towels do have a slight degree of abrasiveness and when used with a spinner can make a ball's surface finer to a slight degree.

4000 is pretty fine to begin with so I bet a buff would almost give it a polished look. I was reading the description on the AMF Clutch ball and 4000 w/ buff is the out of box finish. The picture looks kinda dull but it is a reactive solid cover. Thanks for the reply.
