Personally, I think it's a toss up between a negative side weight truepancake core resin and a pearl uretahane.
BTW #1: The negative side weight not only makes it roll earlier, it also reduces the backend.
BTW #2: I think the Flame Reactive, also a true pancake core resin, which uses the older Curelyon cover is milder than the HIT which uses the newer Pro-Glide cover, but I think it is not a huge difference.
BTW #3: Now that you've drawn the picture with the Target Zone, I am leaning more towards a pearl urethane.
I am getting the Red/Purple Flame Reactive next week, which is the solid of the Flame series; the Orange is the pearl. and I have a pearl urethane. I know this doesn't help you if you want to get him the ball this week. Neither one is very expensive. I bought the Red/Purple for $17 + $19 delivery from Ebay!
