Hot water with a little Dawn dish soap will help pull out the oil.

Dawn is a dishwashing liquid that advertises its grease-cutting potential.

I prefer to clean my equipment with bowling products designed to clean bowling balls.  Personally, I have NeoTac's Hook-It and Renew-It in my bag. (www.neotac.com) I've also used Ebonite's Powerhouse Ball Cleaner successfully.

I recommend visting you local proshop to see what products are available to you.

Without mentioning any brand names.
I've used dish washing, laundry, hand, face soap etc. Anything that removes oil. Glass/window cleaner, car shampoo, car/grease remover etc.

Also, even without soap, if you soak your balls in hot water (in the sink or bathtub) for about 15 minutes. BUT make sure its not too hot, you should be able to put your hand in the water without it burning your hand. (and be sure to keep fingertips and thumbslugs out of the water, its possible they could come unglued.

I'm not sure I'd aggree with this part.  Hook-It is very strong.  It will eat inserts with prolonged contact.  I'd be a little nervous about leaving such a strong cleaner on the ball.  Hook-It will leave the ball tacky after using it normally.

Strider is correct.......

When using ANY Neo-Tac product, read the directions as if your IQ was normal!

Using a clean cloth or paper towel, rub in small cirles thoroughly until the film is gone!

Do NOT leave Hook-It sit on your ball......it WILL eat grips and such...

I recently had great success with this.  I took a 5 gallon bucket and put oil dry in it.  Then put the ball in and covered the ball with more oil dry.  I then sat the ball in the basement near the furnis.  I took it out a week later and the ball was hooking more than I had seen it hook in atleast 6 months and I clean my balls with hook it after every session.

One tip that has seemed to make a difference on some of the other balls I have tried is to put the ball on the spinner and really rough the surface up before you put it in then finish the resurface after you take it out.
