? Locating CG

Is there a way of locating the CG of a DRILLED BALL using a Do Do Scale?  If so what is the method?

I think it is rather the question to locate the real CG, not the marked, after drilling. Yes, a dodo scale should suffice, weighing the ball in 2 90° directions and bringing all of them to even weight.

The procedure should be the same as for an undrilled ball.  I say should because I've never actually tried it on a drilled ball.  The link below explains the procedure, or it's printed on the drill sheet for Lane 1 balls.  The procedure refers to drawings of (of course) Lane 1 balls and their logo, but it will work on any ball.  If you need to, draw in a diamond to refer to.  --  JohnP

Thanks for the replies.  So happens that the ball in question is a Lane #1 ball.  However, it has two punch marks and both form a straight line with the pin.  The two punch marks are about 1 1/4 inch apart.  So, if I follow Lane #1's instruction I should be able to determine which of the two marks is more representative of the actual CG?

there is a way weighing the ball on the dodo scale to find your new center of gravity, but the procedure how to do it i dont know.

The punches were two determinations of the cg of the undrilled ball.  It is very doubtful that either one is the cg of the drilled ball.  --  JohnP

Thanks JohnP.  I would like to change the layout of the ball, so I'll take a shot at locating the CG and then determine what options I have.

To change the layout you're going to have to plug the ball.  That's when to determine your cg, after it's plugged.  --  JohnP

Boostz...you say it's a Lane #1 ball, thats funny, one of my friends had an Enriched Uranium with a mismarked pin. He ended up drilling the ball with the cg (the marked one--that is wrong) above his ring finger. The actual cg is in his palm.

Mismarked cg's (I think you meant cg instead of pin, it's impossible to mismark the pin) are more common than most think.  I'd say 25% of the ones I check are off more than 1/2" and half of those are off an inch or more.  --  JohnP
