track diameter

I've seen the info from buddies (https://www.buddiesproshop.com/34/How_to_Measure_Track_Diameter.htm), but I'm not sure I completely understand.

Where exactly do you start and stop the measurement?  Is it in between the 2 bow-ties on the ball?

Locate the first track ring and mark it with white or yellow grease pencil all the way around.  Then use a ProSect to find the maximum distance between two points on opposite sides of the track.  --  JohnP

Thanks JohnP!

Traced in on ball and came up with right around 11" - I believe that gives me an axis tilt of around 16.5*.  That was on a ball I threw a couple of weeks ago.  Hopefully I can get out today and bowl a little bit to get a fresher reading (and I'll remember to put the grease pencil in the bag today!).
