I have a symmetric balled drilled 70x6x30. This gives me very little flare which fits my style and lane condition.
If I were to drill an asymmetric, will drilling it 70x1 1/2x30 give barely any flare as. well?

I see youve been reading the track flare study. Sweet. To answer your question, a 1.5" pin to pap on an Asymm will yield little flare and 3/4" is the least you can go safely. My question is, why not change the ratio of the numbers to smooth out the layout? The numbers indicate a more skid flip layout and most asymms are strong anyways. For example, you could go with a 60x2.5x50 which would put your sum at 110 which is only 10 more than the total you gave. This would smooth out the layout while making the ball more playable. Also what ball are you looking to use?

I have considered increasing the VAL, but according to past experiences, I dont match up well with it.
I will be drilling an Ulti-max in the future for medium-medium heavy THS. Want the a strong arc instead of jumpy angular backend...
