i had an X-out thrash with about a 6 inch pin.

I put the cg right on the center of grip and put the pin straight up.. It will go super long, but it also gives alot of forward roll because the pin is exceptionally high.

Or the alternative of drilling it Axis by putting the pin on your Axis....

mrtappedalot -- Before you do anything else, confirm the cg location on a dodo scale.  In manufacturing balls, they determine the cg VERY quickly and many are mismarked.  When the cg to pin distance excedes the manufacturer's spec, they don't recheck it - just downgrade it to a blem.  --  JohnP

http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=64965&ForumID=18&CategoryID=5 might help out a bit, although that pin was even longer than yours, so i dont know.
