I bowl in a Tournament league that lays out alot of flatter patterns of medium
heavy to heavy anywhere from 39 to 42 ft.Alot of times I need to stand anywhere from 28 board to 32 or a little deeper(left big toe),target anywhere from 15 to 19 at the arrows out to the 10-12 board for my breakpoint.Is there a drill to specifically address this particular type of lane play?I'm a RH tweener,17 mph at the arrows,PAP 5" over 1/2 " up,45 degrees axis rotation with a high track.Any suggestions for both symetric and asymetric cores are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I asked Mo this question and he told me to try a craze drilled 80* 3 1/2 25*. I really loved the drilling.

elgavachon is right. a "long and strong" drilling is what you're looking for, something with a larger pin/pap angle and a small angle to the val with the pin in a strong position. Can you explain that drillig in inches such as 4x4 with a 2 inch pin buffer?

Without actually drawing it on a ball, I can tell you that it will be approximately 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 with a 1 1/2" pin buffer. Depending on the bowler''s pap, the mb will be in or near the thumb and the pin will be above and quite a bit to the right of the ring finger.This layout works best with a fairly long pin(4-4 1/2) and if you want to make it even stronger using a gradient line weight hole, get a ball with the cg out of line to the right. This makes sure you have enough side weight to put the hole in the best location and size.

I was curious if I could increase the hook on this ball with a weight hole? and if so where should I put it, width, depth, and anything else I need to tell my ball driller...thanks.

Learn to tilt it a little more. There is no "drilling" for playing in, you have to get the ball to float properly through the fronts and read the backend. The players that are good at doing that have certain ball rolls..and it doesn't matter what they are throwing.

You have to stay inside of what your physical game allows...I'm not saying you can't play in...but if you are looking for a magic ball and layout it doesn't exist.

motogp69, since the ball wasn't laid out with the intent of a x-hole, it may be difficult. It looks to have some finger weight, possibly,and not much side. These two factors limit the size and location that you can put an x-hole. Have your driller check the side and finger weight. You may be able to take the fingers deep and put a weight hole in the p3 gradient position. It may take the side to negative, but that's ok as long as it's legal. You also have to keep the finger weight legal. P4 is the mb,so it won't be possible because of the proximity to the thumb hole. The best you might be able to do is p3. Otherwise, you can plug and redrill the ball or start fresh with a new ball.

Personally since I don't really swing the ball out with a lot of comfort anymore, I prefer to use a very strong ball with a mild drill when we have flood conditions. This allows me to stand left but not have to hook the house.

if you want a P3 wt hole, drill the ring finger really deep and cut the finger insert in half
