I have been told that my finger lateral pitches, from years of cracking my knuckles, may be a significant factor in my most basic problem, coming over the top of the ball.
Question (left handed bowler)
My ring finger pitch is 7/8 left and middle finger is 1/2 left. Will these pitches tend to create a condition where it's much more likely to come around or over the top of the ball?

The pitches most of the time will make you want to spin the ball more. your fingers and thumb are going to want to follow the direction of the pitches, especially with such extreme pitches.

Have you tried a ball with standard parallel impressions on the fingers?

Pitches as well as the finger span lengths affect the release.
I am not aware of any evidence that cracking knuckles creates a need for particular pitches.
It is my understanding that knuckle cracking does not not damage the bones, but there may be some minor injuries to the ligaments and tendons.
I think one of our posters is an orthopedist - perhaps he will comment.
