Any advice..short pin...
« on: November 22, 2007, 02:12:20 AM »
Was planning on drilling my Toxic with the pin above the ring, cg stacked underneath. When I recieved it though, I got about a two inch pin. Am I right in thinking that that almost rules out pin above fingers at all? It's got 3 1/4 oz. of top weight, and I don't use inserts (tiny finger holes). Let me know if you can think of anything. I really...REALLY don't want to use a pin under drill on this thing. LMK if you can think of anything? Thanks in advance.

You can drill it with the pin over the fingers, but you'll probably need a fairly large balance hole at about finger level or above and near the VAL.  Drill the fingers extra deep and keep the thumb hole as shallow as possible.  Kick the cg out far enough that you don't exceed 1 oz of negative side weight.  Before you drill the balance hole, layer a couple of pieces of white tape on the proposed location and throw the ball.  It would be best for the closest flare ring to be at least 3/4" away from the tape.  --  JohnP

will that balance hole do anything to the reaction of it? also, I saw in some other forum where you can put a weight hole very near the cg? what kind of an effect would that have on things? like if i had pin above ring, cg stacked just underneath my ring...and right under that have a small hole? to take out the extra weight? what would that do? lmk thanks.
