Angular One with 1/4" Pin...
« on: December 08, 2006, 06:12:03 AM »
I need some opinions here guys. I'm not sure if I want to return this thing or just try to punch it up. Unfortunately there are no highly skilled ProShops in my area so they really dont have any ideas that they're comfortable with. Here are some pics of the ball, HELP!

No weight hole needed.

hows that?  The cg is above the fingers.  Isn't there like 4 ounces of finger weight?

With the ring finger drilled deeper than normal, it probably won't even need one with only 2.25 oz. TW.

This ball definitely isn't a 2nd.  Just because it doesn't look like every other Angular One out there doesn't make it a bad ball.  I saw a Big One that had a 5"+ pin.  It was at least labeled an X-out.

From my above post, this came from an Ebonite tech:

With low top, you could use the drilling I sent in the last email and you shouldn't need to drill the extra hole. Place the pin over the fingers and position the MB about 2" right of the thumb. Have your pro shop weigh up the ball and if it's legal, you should be good to go.

I dont know, I know I told him to make sure he weighed it all out but I didnt stand there and watch as I was browsing the pro shop. I can find out if you'd like..

You seem pretty concerned about it. I guarantee you even if it did weigh out to be illegal, there are plenty more people using illegal balls every day that dont even know it. Dont take that the wrong way, if it weighs out bad I would definitely be punching a hole in it. I have bowled Nationals now for 4 years and I've never had anything weigh out bad, going again the first weekend in April.

If the ball has a low top weight then drilling the fingers deeper should keep it legal.
