anyone else try this drill layout???

ok, i did this drill pattern after i read the ball review from Riggs on his Victory Road...
 
basically you put the pin 2inches up above your fingers with the CG over @ 45degree's...  
 
I did this to three balls, a HyRoad, Tropical Heat Hybrid, and Infinite Theory..      Crazy part is the Tropical Heat has the sharpest hook off the break point, while the Hy-road is the smoothest and the Theory is the weakest of them all lol...

There isn't enough information here....it depends on your PAP.  "Pin 2" above the fingers" means something different for me than it does for Riggs, and different for you (unless somehow we all have the same PAP).  Also on the Theory it is asymmetrical so putting the CG in a certain place is irrelevant, where you put the MB is what determines the shape downlane.


Little known fact:  In Russian "Hope" and "Change" translate to "Tax" and "Spend"

So wouldn't it be a better idea to get a much longer pin to cg ball so you can get the cg closer to you mid grip line and not have to drill out the excess top weight? The main reason being is that looks like a flare reducing weight hole.
 
Not sure the angles, because we don't know your pap but if it works for you then it works. Typically with a pin that high up your looking at length and a quick reaction when the ball meets friction. Then again maybe different if your a high track player.

David please refer to my first response....we understand what "pin 2" above fingers and 45* cg placement" means, the video doesn't help.  This is not a drilling.....you may as well be saying "I have a round bowling ball, anyone tried a drilling like this?".  Saying the balls go down and hook is also not helpful, there aren't many balls today that don't go down and go left quickly.

Agreed, there isn't enough information without pin to PAP distances etc.  By putting the pin up that high you are creating a smaller pin buffer (using storm's layout system), or placing it closer to your VAL.  This will generally make the ball respond quicker when it hits friction.  I've done this a few times, it does seem as though getting a really long pin and a lower top weight makes it easier to get it drilled without having to deal with weight holes or drilling the fingers out deeper than normal.  There was a good Storm video of Pete Weber throwing a gravity shift, both with 5" pin to PAP I believe, but one had a 3" pin buffer and the other had a 1" pin buffer.  The video really showed the distinct difference in ball reaction, I think if you search online you can probably still find it.
