Came across this while searching for a new press. Looks like a standard drill press, but I notice it has a milling table. Would I be able to cut ovals on this or will I have to spend the big money and buy a mill?

If you want to accurately cut ovals, you need to have a mill drill with digital readouts, like Innovative or Jayhawk.

that jig looks alittle hokey to me.... but they only have one picture of it

I have ths jig. I successfully milled my ovals with precision, it's just more time consuming than with your high dollar digital milling setups. The jig holds the ball very well. You have to use the dials for thousandths. I bought my press from grainger. It's the dayton 3/4 horse benchtop, 5 inch quill stroke and slightly larger column. Works great but I cant compare it to another, this is my first ball drilling setup.
