Was curious about the shape/look of that...

The same for me on asymmetrical so symmetrical. It''s more about the ball cover then anything. For me it''s very smooth through the heads and a heavy arc on the backend. Ball isn''t real jumpy, and is very controllable.
I have a solid and a pearl currently drilled on this pattern and they are wonderful. The pearl is stronger on the backends. Both balls have inferno cores but are overseas covers.

Isn't the purpose with Rico to make an asymmetrical ball behave like a symmetrical..?

i Rico'd my Cell Pearl, its really smooth and predictable throughout the whole lane, but you've probably figured out by now that everything is that way when its Rico'd

Yup! You're right. I have a VG, an original Inferno, and an AMF Hawk drilled rico. All three are smooth as silk, with a very predictable, hard-hitting arc on the backend. I love them on tough conditions.

I tried it on a Storm Secret Agent... hooked on the second arrow and went straight... My ball speed matches my rev rate on CATS... Is THAT the problem? I see heavey handed people arc this drill pattern... but goes pretty straight for me. Was wondering if the assymetrical core would accentuate that or not.
I am a Dual Angle junkie... but as for the Rico/Boomer/Full-roller/Wiseman/TJ exotic drill patterns... not as familiar with the motions.

Ball surface? Axis tilt? Axis rotation? Rico is no good for low axis tilt and low axis rotation players. It does exactly as you described.

Rogue Cell, Seek & Destroy, SD-73, Silver Streak SE, Granite Gargoyle, Neptune and AMF Orbit. All smooth and predictable. You know exactly what shape and amount of hook you are going to get on any condition. Its all about having the correct surface match. That is why I have had so many different type of covers and cores drilled that way over the years.

I rico'd my Storm Special Agent, smooth and predictable but I get much more forward roll on it and it's still very smooth but its late arc going into the pocket. I love this ball.

I know it isn''t Asym, but I have a Hyroad at 4000 with a slightly modified Rico where the pin is maybe 1/2 inch higher than grip center. I really like the roll of it a lot, fits nicely under my Cell at 4000 and Cell Pearl box, and above my Reign as far as handling volume... It was probably the best $70 I have invested in a long time, I bought it off a friend with similar specs already drilled Rico and it certainly turned out to be a great purchase.

As far as the motion I get from it, it is very smooth, but I see a decent amount on the backend, possibly due to my rev rate... I have a slightly flippy tilt but nothing extreme, so Paired with my rev rate and above average speed probably creates a little more flip.

As described above..."very smooth, late arcing going into the pocket". That's what I love about the rico drilling.
Especially when it's done on a high-performance piece. You usually get great hitting power, just by the nature of the ball itself, but extremely controllable!

I rico'd an awesome finish. I use this ball when I play down and in. It gets good length and finishes with a nice, even arc in the backend.
