Approximity of Flare Lines
« on: December 31, 2007, 12:34:03 AM »
I've got a question about track flare.  What's the difference in how a ball will perform with the flare lines tight together <ie. say 1/8"-1/4"> vs. large flare line separation <ie. 1/2" or more>.

Thanks!

The wider between the lines, the more the ball wobbles as it goes down the lane. The core is in a unstable possition, creating strong overall hook.

Thanks Ric and azus.  I knew this but your explanations confirmed my thoughts.

Best layouts to keep flare lines closer symmetrical I assume?  Probably layouts with no weight holes or where to place X hole to keep tighter if X hole needed?
