Safe Layout?
« on: April 21, 2009, 07:24:36 AM »
I have a Twisted Fury I haven't thrown for a while but I had a question about it.  The pin is under my middle finger with a hole on my PAP.  There have been a couple times where people have told me they heard the ball thump somewhere in the backend, I think just before or after the ball breaks.  My PAP is 4 5/8" over x 3/8" up, is there any reason this should be happening?

Placing the pin under the fingers for a high tracker can cause the track to flare into the finger holes.  But your PAP doesn't indicate that it should be a problem for you.  Can you look at your flare rings and see what hole you're getting close to?  --  JohnP

For me at least, pin down is usually not a problem.  But I've never had the pin left(and below) of my centerline(righty) before.  I don't throw the ball anymore because it doesn't fit well, but I think I could try to throw it and see if it still thumps for me.  Could it be the balance hole getting hit?  I believe the last time someone heard it, I didn't quite get around the ball as much but I don't know if that will change the track.

Normally the PAP is a safe location for a balance hole.  --  JohnP
