Justrico,I need your help
« on: September 22, 2009, 08:58:01 AM »
I have been using the IT system for 4 months now an like it really well.My only thought that might be bad is,drilling the hole for your thumb slug goes so deep does it effect the core in a Bad way.

It does effect the stats of the ball my proshop guy says about 1/2 ounce but you can just drill the fingers deeper..... and itll balance it all back out...

I have noticed that,I was wondering about the effects on the core.Would it raise or lower the diff..Maybe change the shape of the core

You do change the dynamics of the ball.
What I found was it will increase the overall reaction, as well as overall amount of flare.
By drilling such a large diameter hole, generally far enough away from the pin, you create a stronger amount of asymmetry, thus increasing the dynamics.
I used an .050 diff, med RG core, pin above the fingers 5 1/4+" from the PAP. drilled with just an 1 1/4" slug in the ball. We then mapped the track migration and basically where the ball wanted to start responding to the lane. After drilling the Turbo Switch grip, it increased the overall flare approx an 1/4" and the ball responded approx 5 ft sooner on the lane.
So hopefully this answers your question. It is more or less placing a strong weight hole in a strong position in relationship to the pin/top of core.

In regards to this, static weights are irrelevant. It's reshaping the core dynamics. It lowers the RG and increases the diff.

Did you read my response? The test was done with a Turbo Switch Grip. But I believe it is relevant to either the Vise IT or the Turbo Switch Grip.

iT use a even Deeper hole You should do a test on that too.

On lane one site Richie or w/e his name say that size hole do affect core

so no win / win I guess

Between the diameter and depth it is not going to change that drastically. It is still going to be very similar. The Switch is slightly larger diameter and the IT is slightly deeper.
