Ball rolling over the thumb hole.. Please help...
« on: March 09, 2005, 10:28:49 AM »
My Fear Factor I just drilled is rolling over the thumb.  I have it scaled out with 2 1/8 Top and 1/2 thumb.  Pin is under rf and cg is in centerline and RAD is left and below thumb.  I wanted to try this drilling.  I like the way it rolls but am not sure where to put the weight hole.  Can anyone help.  Thanks, Derek

Are you sure it's rolling over the thumb and not the fingers?  Do you see the oil track over the thumb hole or are you just assuming it's hitting the thumb hole because it's going "thump, thump, thump"?  Your profile doesn't say anything about your track, but if it's high 3/4, layouts with the pin under the fingers may flare into the finger holes.  --  JohnP

No, I looked at the oil track and it was right over the thumb.  It was close to the fingers but not over them.

I normally track about 1/8 - 1/4 from the thumb.  I am going to try it a couple more games to see if I am holding on to it to long.
