I have a quick question i am not sure if this can be done, but i am going to throw it out there. I regards to a persons PAP, where or can you place a balance hole to draw the track away from the thumb, i have bowler i bowl with and his first two or three track rings run over his thumb is there any way you can place a balance hole to move track away from thumb. let me know thanks.

Well you could put a really deep hole in the thumb/positive quadrant (more specifically about 2-1/5 inches down for the axis on the VAL) to increase the differential and make the ball flare earlier which should help get the flare rings off the thumb hole quiker.

YeahHoss is correct. What you need to do though, is weigh the ball first to check the static weights (thumb and finger weight). If there is already finger weight in the ball, you may not be able to drill a hole down next to the thumb, because that will only add to the existing finger weight with alomst a certainty of making the ball illegal. Need to find out what kind of layout is in his ball. Check that all out before you add holes to the ball.

Depending on the thumb pitches he's already using, you might try increasing the right lateral (or decreasing the left lateral) pitch (for a rightie). That will tend to make him turn the ball a little sooner and might move the track off the thumb hole. But if it doesn't match his thumb hinge it could also give blister/callous problems. -- JohnP
