I bowl in a house with wet/dry and dry backends. If I move in and swing the 3rd or 4th arrows hang mostly ten's, eight's and 9 pins. The bowlers who are scoring big are 2nd arrow shooters with not much on the ball. Thinking about going urethane. Any other suggestions on balls and drillings?

i'd go with the visionary green blue centaur, the low flare core and 1000 matte cover combo will let you play up the boards (if you don't have excessive hand) and should react very smoooothly and predictably

Check out the Ebonite Elements, and the Power Grooves by Brunswick - especially the Pearl Reactives, the Dry/R and the Urethane Groove, although the Pearls are pretty strong and can be itchy. I'd go for a drilling with pin under or slightly outside ring for a smooth reaction, MB at 135Â° for a smooth backend.

If still you can get one, also consider the Brunswick Proactive Plum Pearl, a very tame particle ball for medium-dry conditions. Never worked for me, but nicely controllable.

Another ball to consider is the Zone Classic Red Pin, a ZC with a very weak coverstock for dry lanes. I threw one for tests, and even though it did not really fit me it was impressive how easy to control this ball was on a torn-out 35' THS.

I would suggest a green blue centaur again it is very low flare and will provide control through the dry part of the lane the box cover should be alright. That is the ball I use for this condition and it works great.

The strategy is the most important.

I bowl on one of themost severe wet/drys I've seen in bowling and know some guys that work on pro tour...they say the house is notorious for this all over our region.

Here is the strategy and I use a highly polished Icon 2 most of the time when it is going good.

Sometimes if I have to go deeper I use the even bigger backending track crunch.

The last strategy I usually use is playing the oil line!
