Big,
Your PAP is your Positive Axis Point, it where the ball rotates on its axis. Everyones PAP is different (normally). It is rare to find someone with exactly the same PAP as yours. This PAP is the most important thing when drilling balls. Since you track near the thumb and fingers I would guess your PAP to be 5 3/4 inchs or so and up alittle. Please visit your local proshop to find YOUR pap. If the guys looks clueless and/or doesn't know what a PAP is. Run and never go back.
The best drilling for you would be something early and controllable or really long and strong. Since you want to play straight up the outside, where there is very little oil (normally), a length drilling or control would suit you best.
Length: If you want something long, I would suggest pin above bridge or ring and cg(center of gravity, small marking on the ball) about 1/2 from your center of grip.
Control: I think Rags covered that really well. That is the layout I would use.
I like the pin above ring, cg in palm for a long skid and controllable backend. This drilling won't snap hard into the pocket but it will make a very hard arc towards it.
Feel free to PM with any question.
Andrew
