Title: Best Dry Lane Ball
Post by: tankantc on January 16, 2005, 12:26:41 PM
I have tried the Dry Heat (HAHA) and also the Too Hot.  The Too Hot is is great for getting down the lane but hits very poorly.  The Dry Heat of course hooks off the world and carries great.

Any suggestions for both ball and possible drill pattern.

Thanks.

You had it right when you punched up a Dry Heat.  It's all in how you drill it!  Mine goes straight as an arrow.  I've got the pin directly above the middle finger and my cg is right in the center of my palm.

My dry heat is drilled identical to that and hooks off the lane.  I also have a Crunch Time drilled very tame, hooks way too much.  I have been wanting to try the Sonic X or Sonic Boom.  I may even drill both.

Thanks for the help.

I wonder what the deal is then?  Maybe I throw harder?

Agreed. Very versatile, seen them snap like mofos like mine, and seen them be very arcy. It may help if we knew more about you to. Speed, rev rate, axis tilt, etc. Every ball reacts differently for every person.

Wonder why your Too Hot wasn't hitting well for you?  I LOVED mine when I had it!  Was it entry angle or just wasn't making the turn hard enough?

If you need something to turn a little harder a Hot Rod will do the trick.

It sounds to me that the Too Hot would be the choice, but with a stronger drilling and/or with an ending weight balance adjustment. =:^D
