Best layout for skid flip
« on: January 16, 2009, 03:14:51 AM »
What pin position and MB drill angle is best for a skid flip reaction?
What ball charateristics promote skid/flip as well?
I'm thinking high rg , high grit cover?

What are some good balls for skid flip.  Thinking Venom, Kinetic, others??

60-90* x 5 x 30-50*

first angle will dictate how early ball hooks, 2nd angle will tell how hard it hooks when it decides to make its move.

I want it to have a big snapping backend..
so closer to 30 deg VAL angle?

What about the 60 - 90 drill angle. I have heard closer to 90 and farther makes a smoother hook.

well the pin to MB closer to 70 degrees will get the ball down the lane, then the closer you get the VAL angle to 30* will create a violent charge off the dry.

And is getting the pin closer to the VAL creating a higher RG because the finger and thumb holes are taking weight out of the side of the core??  Is this what allows the ball to have a more violent charge off of the dry.

I thought the MB angle controlled the shape of the hook as well ??
