I am keeping an eye out for a 14lb ball to have a Rico drilling put on it for a buddy of mine. What is the best pin and top weight for a Rico drilling? Thanks

I like to go with a pin distance half the persons ring finger span this puts the CG next to the thumb...top weight in the 2.5-3oz range to allow variance with the weight hole

CG doesn't matter, who cares where it goes.

I'm with northface. I'm sure the cg doesn't matter. I mean it's not like justrico invented the layout.

I saw on tv PDW use the Rico a few years back. Then I saw CB use the Rico not too long ago...I guess it's pretty good layout....

Seems like it "matters" when the two smartest guys in the room (JustRico and kid lost) want it to matter. Either something matters or it doesn't, not it "matters" to suit my argument and does not otherwise.

I work in finance, so all this stuff is like saying decimal points don't matter, until it matters. Make sense? All the dynamic duo says is "cg doesn't matter" except for this and that, otherwise, it does not. Semantics? Maybe, but don't say something doesn't matter, when it clearly does.

Northface28 I will take you at face value and being sincere in your lack of understanding in what we are referring to when saying "cg no matter"

Here is a great video that talks about why this came about. USBC planned on making major changes to bowling rules that would have made a lot of equipment no longer usable in league play.(illegal) It was USBCs attempt to slow down the increase in scores due to technology in equipment.

For additional notes there still many that believe that the cg location alone is a large shift in the bowling ball core and has an affect on how the ball rolls, how much it hooks, ect. USBC later conducted its own research and came to the same conclusions as Brunswick. USBC was trying to slow down the bowling balls technology boost that had already affected the scores in bowling.
