best spinner drilling??
« on: November 29, 2003, 04:38:52 AM »
I have a friend who just ordered a Vicious Attack.  She spins the ball more than anyone I have ever seen.  I am not that familier with spinner drillings.  I was going to follow Morich's suggest for low track players (pap less than 4 1/2").  Anywho else had any luck with something else??

Players with lower PAPs in general have the advantage, because they are able to create better motion through the heads, and stronger break point because there release provides the ball a little more time to save energy. Typically Stacked leverage layouts are not good for spinners or players with lower tracks because it creates very unstable break points sometimes. usually 90% of the time a layout of 10.30 is best. I have a friend that has an axis cordinates of 2 over and 1' up. he has a few balls that look as if there laid out with label drillings for a lefty but this is infact a 4x2 or 5x2. also usually it's better to avoid using a layout that will require a weight hole. some spinners will track over the weight hole.

IMO, I tend to find 2-21/2" layouts usally work well for spinners with some speed or low rev rates. i know they get the balls thru the fronts but it hard for them to a good read in the mids. These layouts put the core in short position to help to ball get a good read. it will not flare over the holes if it place on the VAL but if it does try go small and deep 3-3 1/2".
And always pin under the fingers to shorten core height.
