Black Cherry Bomb Drilling Question
« on: October 30, 2003, 09:04:41 PM »
I'm getting my first Lane 1 ball today, a bcb 15 lb.  I was wondering what drilling patterns you would recommend for me.

Generally, high track player.  Medium-Slow Speed, 14 mph, looking to speed up.  Medium to high revs. I look to set it down at 20 maybe out to 10 if conditions allow, or 15 out to 10 if they are tighter.  Down 10 is my back up.

My house is generally fairly heavy, fresh oil on League nights, but the shot changes after a game and a half more than other houses i've played on for 4 games.  The track gets carved real fast.  I don't know the unit count, because the guy in charge doesn't work nights.  The technician working the lanes isn't too talkative either.

And I'm looking to get into the sport shot league they have going on Friday nights, but that remains to be seen.

I'm kind of looking to play a more inside line like the 4th arrow, but have never been able to get enough on it, or my ball is just not strong enough to effectively do so.

The patterns that seem to fit my game from the drill sheet are label, and stacked.  I don't really know much about the technical side of bowling (drilling patterns etc.) but would really like to learn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm.  If you tried pin above the ring, cg kicked out, like 4 1/2 x 3 and then put the weight hole in a high flare position (to the right and below your pap), you might get enough length combined with traction to play deeper.  It's already going to be aggressive on the backend, and with your slower speed and higher revs, it should give you the length to get the ball down the lane further, but the extra flare should help it pick up hard in the midlane and start moving towards the pocket with continuation.  I'm not a Buzzsaw expert, you might want to post this in the Lane 1 forum, but really the only difference in drilling them is that they really don't have a PSA (Preferred Spin Axis), and if they do, it takes them a while to get there, which equates to more energy at the pins.

I'm BETTER than you because . .

1) I've met the DNL leprechaun
2) I get paid to watch tv.
3) My dad's friend's brother knows Chris Barnes' stepdad.
4) Kristi's my buuuuuddy
5) I get to witness a man with the speed and revs of Robert Smith combined with the accuracy of the guards in the lobby scene of the Matrix average 240
6) I can throw a better fit over nothing than you can.
