First off; I don't know anything about layouts and drilling, so if my ignorance shows during this post I'm sorry! I'm trying to learn! I actually have 2 questions here, but, first the back story:
I recently got a new Virtual Gravity and a new Virtual Energy. I tried my hand at laying out the balls before taking them to my driller. I chose a simple 4"x4" with a 2" pin buffer for both balls. I took them to my local pro shop for them to look at to see if everything I did was right and if it made sense. My normal driller wasn't there, but, the person who normally fills in for him was. He looked at the layouts and he said everything was right, but, he said he couldn't get the Gravity legal. He said he didn't know how to get it that way without a nearly 1" x-hole. Here's the specs on each ball. These are just going to be used on a THS.
Virtual Gravity...
15 lbs 4 oz
4.40 oz of top weight
2-2.5" pin
My layout left the pin about 1" above and a 1/2" right of my ring, mb 2" right of thumb and the cg 2" away from grip center midline on a 55 degree angle up (hope that is a good enough description)
Virtual Energy...
15 lbs 4 oz
3.02 oz of top weight
3-3.5" pin
My layout left the pin about 1" above and a 1/2" right of my ring, mb 1" right of thumb and the cg 1" away from grip center midline on a 35 degree angle up (hope that is a good enough description)
Question #1...is it really going to be impossible to make the Gravity legal?
Question #2...what layouts do you guys recommend for these 2 balls? I trust your guys' opinions!
Thanks!
