There is a 5 ball limit at all teir 1 tournaments (all the big ones) so i need to cover Heavy oil to BONE dry (6 team games in one day 5 people on a team... they get real dry, last year i used plastic after game 4). The shots are generally start at sport shots but b/c I have hand after the first game i get generally can bounce the track area.
So far this is what I'm thinking.
5 ball arsenal
Strong Reactive (med-heavy)- Strike Zone / UI / Terminal Velocity
Pearl Particle- Depth Charge / Hawg
Benchmark (med) - Dark Thunder or Puma Classic
Weak reactive or Urethane (lite)BVP Rampage or Ice or Pure hammer or Hot Rod Hybrid
Plastic
wondering mainly what i could choose to make the difference between them as small as possible with out giving up the ability to cover Heavy to dry
my stats off the hand are
360 rpm
19.5 mph
Feel free to msg me if you need more info or recommend other balls or if you think that it would take 5 balls to cover the conditions completely throw it out there b/c i can flatten out my hand just fine.

The Strike Zone for sure for oil.

My experience with the collegiate tournaments is that any sort of oil that's out there doesn't seem to last very long... especially over the 6-12 game blocks. And with your stats, you shouldn't have trouble getting a ball to the pocket on a fresh shot. I would say one medium-heavy oil ball for fresh shots and then concentrate on weaker equipment with a good portion of the arsenal comprised of medium and light oil equipment (and of course the plastic spare ball). Personally, I liked a pearl urethane (had a slate gargoyle) for the burnt conditions. For the most part all companies are fairly comparable so either choose one or two companies you like (or as I did, choose the ones which offered the best discounts)... I'm not sure about currently, but I seem to remember ebonite/hammer offering the best prices over the past few years....

this is my present 5-ball arsenal:
Terminal Velocity - med-to-heavy, or long oil
Titan SE and Maximum Velocity for med oil
Max Vel if backends dry
Titan SE if carry down
Orbit for drier - I shoot down-and-in with it
and of course - plastic

Do you really need the spare ball? Are you absolutely positive you don't have the ability to come up the back of the ball with speed to kill the ball? I don't care what people say, it is not that hard to do and you eliminate any feel issues switching from ball to ball (which WILL be there no matter what grip system you use). Some people have come to rely on a spare ball, but I personally feel that people that are going to miss spares are going to miss whether they have a spare ball or not. Many of the good scratch bowlers in my area don't use plastic and many pros do it just for advertising... 1 extra ball would be very nice if you can pick up your spares just as good as if you were using a strike ball.

Jason Kovack - The arsenall looks good, if u where 2 add one more ball 2 it (and take out plastic) what would it look like?
... i like the idea of throwing brunswick stuff b/c they charge alot less for stuff for the college bowlers.
stanski- yea i don't really need a spair ball imo, when i miss spairs i miss by a mile... the 1 board of hook i get when i throw my big time at spairs really doesn't make any difference
