Title: Can a Turbo Switchgrip be used with large pitches?
Post by: waterboy276 on April 05, 2017, 05:10:32 PM
My PSO just started offering switchgrips and I would like to start using them.  I use 1/2" left in my thumb (right handed) and he hasn't installed any outer sleeves with that much pitch yet.  We both feel that the installation should still work correctly, but just to be safe, does anyone have experience doing this or something similar?

I've done several at 1/2 Reverse, 1/4 Under without any issues.

Depending on how big your thumb is you might be able just to do the pitch in the slug or you might be able to a 1/4 in the outer and a 1/4 in the inner.  I know we have folks that at 3/8 reverse and SG are done for them without issue.

Yeah it can be done, it's not fun but it can work.  I've actually seen them done at 3/4 rev, 3/4 lateral . . lol but the real question is why so much pitch?  Unless your span is 5"+, not sure why that much is needed to begin with?

I'm using 1/2 left because of the adjustment made when switching to Joe Slowinski's ADT.  One of the instructions was to add 1/4 to 3/8 latteral left, I was at 1/8.  I've been using it for a little over a year now.  I do plan to back off by 1/8 because the edge of my thumb is starting to rub.  My span is 4" both fingers (full) with 1/4 reverse in both fingers.  My thumb is 1/8 forward.
