Anybody have any experiences inverting the ball and putting the cg above the fingers and keeping the pin below or just above the fingers.
Mainly in reference to short pin balls with light top weight. Hadn't seen it in years but was wondering if anybody had tried it on newer equipment?

If you're dealing with symmetric cores forget about where the cg is located as long as you can make the static weights legal. All the ending statics will have a major affect on is balance hole size and location. With balls with a marked MB you'll have to take that into consideration and I really don't know how a MB in the area the layout you're inquiring about requires would affect the reaction. -- JohnP

That drilling sounds like the old 315degree layout that was also known as a Danny Wiseman layout for a while:

Thanks g1073 that is what I was referring to mainly was the Wiseman pattern but wasn't sure if anybody remembered it. lol
