What is PAP?

Please excuse my ignorance. I have not bowled in 20 yrs and am starting to get back in to it.I have been trying to absorb as much info as I can.I have been unable to find the defination of PAP.  Thank you in advance, Mike

PAP = Positive Axis Point

This is the axis the ball rotates on when it is first released.  This is used in drilling to orient the core to give the ball a specific reaction.  This measurement is done from the center of the grip, and is unique to each bowler's style.

Example a PAP can be over to the right 5" and up 1" from the center of grip.  This is the location of the imaginary "axis" that the ball rotates on.  This measurement can vary greatly.
