Guys, I need some help. I am having a N'Kripton Code drilled.I need help on the lay out.I want this ball to use on a heavy oil shot. 15 on the speed, med rev rate. I average 205 in a couple of leagues and play mostly down and in. But I would like to have this ball to hook early. I would like to have the ball drilled off my pap but I am afraid my pro shop guys are having trouble finding it. The oil rings on my spare ball (white dot) are right at my thumb hole not on it but really, really close,out to about 2.5 inches.They drilled up a MEGA FRICTION  and it hits like a train but no more then 5 board break.They seem to put the balance hole on the mid line of every ball they drill.My balls seem to react better if the balance hole is higher or lower,but I have a hard time making it react if placed in the middle. Can some one give me some advice in were my pap is most likely to be,and were to put the balance hole.Thanks.

YOU HAVE TO FIND YOUR PAP...have your pro shop guys try again.  when they think they've found it, put a peice of white tape on it and go throw it.  it should be steady going down the lane, NO WOBBLE.  

Heavy oil shots like early change of direction and lots of flair.  The surface on the ball of choice will be the most important key.  Place the pin b/w 3 3/8" and 4 1/2" from your pap. Make the drilling angle around 30-40* (try and keep the MB inside your VAL.)  and keep the pin down.

Just remember that the horizontal component of your PAP on the spare ball will be about 1/2"to 3/4" more than on your regular ball.  I would have your pro shop guy get the PAP from your regular ball.

this isn't a bad suggestion, but if the 'regular' ball has a odd shaped core it is prob pulling your track off it's regular axis therefor causing an inaccurate reading.  Try and pick a ball that doesn't flare much and has a symmetic core in it.  the spare ball is usually a great candidate for measuring PAP.

Hey fellas thanks!!Printed your responses and took them to pro shop operator.After he saw that I was not going to let him just put three holes in the ball he went out and helped me find my pap.Then after 8 or ten WHYS he decided to drill the ball.I have not picked it up as of yet(vacation)only hope it was done the way i wanted.Will let you know.

well generally speaking the higher the x hole the less flair the lower the more but if its on your pap it should hook alot. anyway with that cover it may also be burning up clearing the heads before trying anything polish it see if that helps or take it up to 4000 i have seen a couple balls that were so aggresive they worked better polished (my roto grip battle was one) alot of cover for a house shot. second off the ncode wasnt all that aggresive of a ball and should'nt cover more boards than the mega. thing you also got to look at is the mega is a strong roll ball not as noticable move down lane as say a sideways which is i beleave a pearl version
